August 29th, 2007 UPDATE
The 2007 Hot August Blast is now behind us. Friday and Saturday were very sunny, warm and WINDY. Fortunately, the forecast that called for severe thunder storms both days and hail on Saturday, did not show up. Other than a 3 minute sprinkle, we had no rain at all. Unfortunately, the forecast did keep many cars from Ohio, where they had severe flooding, Pennsylvania and some vendors from coming. Even with the doom and gloom forecast, the show was bigger and better than last year. On a picture perfect Sunday, we had cars arrive from Pennsylvania, Canada, east of Syracuse, in addition to the locals.
We will post show pictures and the award winners once we get everything together.
This year like last year, we gave away a small block Chevy, built by BRK Racing and a set of wheels from Dunn Tire, in addition to the many smaller prizes provided by our other vendors and sponsors. Our poker walk was a huge success, and we will probably expand it next year.
I would like to thank our title sponsor, Advance Auto Parts and Superior Lubricants for presenting the show, the volunteers from the Rods and Kustoms and the Southern Tier Auto Buffs car clubs and the many other volunteers for making this show possible.
If you attended, a big THANK YOU for coming. If you didn't because of the weather forecast, you can't always believe the weather man. Maybe next year.
